You may remember this guy, he was only the greatest coach IU ever had (yes he had a temper-most men do)[but he made men out of boys]anyhow:

Knight making return to Indiana after ditching HOF ceremony

The former Hoosiers coach will speak at a Dec. 17 fundraiser in Indianapolis to benefit the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.

The event comes less than six weeks after Knight missed a ceremony inducting him into Indiana University's athletics Hall of Fame in Bloomington.

Knight's exclusion from the IU hall had been a contentious issue since then-President Myles Brand fired him in September 2000 for violating a zero-tolerance policy.(( that would put undo pressure on anyone))
Knight said he would not attend the ceremony because he did not want to detract from the other inductees
This guy has his head screwed on right-he's done pretty good for a man that speaks his mind;wouldn't you say????

IU names basketball center after Cooks

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Indiana University’s new basketball training complex will be named after billionaire entrepreneur Bill Cook and his wife.

The IU Board of Trustees on Friday approved naming the 67,000-square-foot building Cook Hall in honor of Bill and Gayle Cook and the Cook Group of companies.

IU athletic director Fred Glass says the Cooks gave $15 million — the single largest gift in IU athletics history — toward the nearly $20 million basketball training center.

The building, slated to open next month, features mirror image practice courts, locker rooms, coaches’ offices and meeting rooms for each program.

It also includes a “Legacy Court” area that will showcase IU’s five national championship trophies and memorabilia and exhibits extolling the university’s rich basketball heritage.

We agree on this subject. He was by far the best IU has seen. You always knew where you stood with him. No wimpy remarks from him.
