The Pirates have a good team this year and looking ahead will have some real talent in the future! The team last year helped a ton! These little guys feed off of last year’s accomplishment and that will only multiply with this year’s team too! I attend every varsity game and missed just a couple of the JV games, the Defense that Coach Meyer has the Varsity playing is just killer. 13th in the entire state in points allowed and 25th in the state for margin of victory, that’s not by class that’s all 400 schools. Its not the Varsity but they will be someday quote: The Greensburg 7A boys basketball team won the tourney championship with a 33-29 win over Shelbyville. This was the third trip back to Greenfield Central in four days to pick up the victory. The Pirates led from the start behind the scoring of Ryan Welage 14 pts., Josiah Buell 10 pts. and Austin Hayden 9 pts.. Welage did a nice job on the board with nine rebounds while Buell and Hayden had four each. Tyler Hogg and Cody Bausback also pulled down three apiece. Ryne Domingo and Zach Fong played but did not score. Hayden, Buell and Welage had two assists each. Hayden and Welage also picked off three to lead in steals. The Pirates finished the season with 11-4 record.

Coach: Stacy Meyer is 16-8 in his third year at Greensburg, accumulating a 34-33 record overall. He has five more seasons as a head coach outside of Greensburg, and his overall mark is 92-89. This is his first sectional and regional title at the helm of the Pirate ship.
